When fragments of experimental temporal data surfaced — traces left behind by an operator known only as Kerry — Brogan acted without hesitation. Using unfinished future technology, he locked onto the residual temporal signature and followed it back through time.
The jump worked… almost.
Brogan arrived in the same era, but displaced just enough to understand the danger. If he revealed himself as Brogan, he risked fracturing the timeline and interfering with events still in motion, jeopardizing not only Kerry’s mission, but the fate of everyone involved.
With no time for elaborate planning, Brogan made a choice: he would become someone else.
Among abandoned depots and commercial districts, Brogan found reinforced festival gear: thermal cloaks, ceremonial red armor, decorative exo-parts built to withstand cold climates and heavy crowds. What began as disguise became evolution.
He rebuilt himself. Ceramic plates replaced traditional armor. Thermal mesh reinforced every joint. Mechanical stabilizers amplified his endurance.
From the fusion of future technology and festive disguise, a new figure emerged: CAPTAIN KLAUS.
Under this codename, Brogan abandoned military hierarchy and embraced a new role. Not as a commander, but as a shield. He aligned himself with the People’s Guard, protecting civilians, intercepting enemy advances, and standing where no one else could. His mechanical armor allowed him to endure impossible punishment, becoming an immovable presence between danger and the innocent.
Stories spread quickly. A towering red sentinel. An armored giant who appeared in blizzards and battlefields alike. A protector who arrived when hope was fading and never retreated.
To the public record, Captain Klaus was nothing more than a Winterfest legend. A seasonal myth. A comforting rumor.
But in truth, he was a man who had seen the future break and chose to return, not to command history… but to protect it.
