Edit: Just after typing this my 7900 panzer killed a 9600 gammond without having to reload.

Of course , Panzer is Mech and got the bonus vs a Energy Gammon, in addition Gammon is Frontline so Panzer don’t need to remove cover. This is quite basic gameplay.
