hahaha you probably should have rolled around from cover to cover a little longer until your opponent got tired. That might have given you a better chance 
Yea, seems like best way to avoid is with a buddy, both total power really close as well as both of your heroes close in power. Oh well, nothing you can do and the response I’ve seen from support relays either they don’t want to be bothered with the issue or they can’t resolve it. Conform to balance or high probability of suffering the huge mismatch. On the plus side you get the mercy of a quick death lol.
