I didn’t flag it, but that’s pretty funny, don’t know why it got flagged, maybe I’m not the only Clyde guy
Thank you, but one problem many players have is that with extreme, where stygia is really useful, is extremely hard altogether, many players have problems in adding certain levels and they can’t get the parts they need to get past it, maybe a extreme revamp in the future could help out,
It isn’t the first time, nor the last time this has happened. The most extreme example would be Initial release Fiber. Fiber was so dominant that it helped some people pass all of extreme before they even needed to add bars. This of course, created envy amongst some player and got them to pour thousands of dollars into the crates. Once the crates were gone, Fiber got nerfed.
This bait and switch practice is pretty malicious. Imagine paying for a BMW, but 6 months later, it turns into a Kia.
Will Butter and Bucket get any upgrades?
They do need to buffs, but out of all frontline, I think torques abilities need a buff, specificly his shields need to have triple hp, and his bots need more health too,
Also someone give bucket a plus skin!!!
There is no way anyone can claim stygia was not unbalanced. If there is only a single way to beat a hero and it doesnt even work most the time (that being a verrill), that hero isnt balanced. I think deca found the middle ground for everyone and lets not claim they ruined stygia or ruined the game or anything until we can at least see the update
Spoken so wisely, you are absolutely correct, the main thing she packed is a “basic counter” not every hero could take her on, now heros like odachi can,
I’ve been playing this game for a long time. She has been the beefest hero I’ve ever seen, forget Panzer, Ronin, Kurtz. Her shield was just too insane, her damage was a little extreme but a good choice. But my main concern right now, is the pvp bracket is way too full. I’m low 1.5 power, I shouldn’t have to go against people who have double power. Just the bracket below, I could do 1 run and I’d be in top 500. I think it’s time to get more brackets to smooth out the power gap.
Looking at the changes, it doesn’t look too drastic. So stygia may still be usable. It would be a shame if a good hero like stygia will be just used for patrols like other past nerfed heroes.
Exactly what this is, most people assume it’s the end of the world, at least now the sheild can actually be destroyed with enough firepower, but she will still be hella strong in pvp,
Well… you cant blame them… most heroes that got nerfed do end up just doing patrols.
The significant nerf in stygia shield would mean she can be easily killed in extreme campaigns.
To my knowledge, the only hero i know that managed to survive multiple nerfs is mandrake.
@Fazeshadow oh I missed that. You are 100% correct. For months her frags were unavailable and there was not mention of her nerfs as a constant thing known across the board until recently, constantly and daily that it got the devs attention and got us here for no real reason that didn’t exist at all before, except when she was new like other heroes at release.
This clearly displays that approach was not the prudent one to take to the devs knowing how many players had nothing and made her something the hard way, not for a week or 2 but for months and months on end and now all of that is thrown out of the window? That is bad.
We can’t blame the developers for seeing what they see but we let people post things that aren’t totally balanced or accurate. We even pointed out solutions. What got lost was the fact that the resources it took to build her up were not available and had to be conjured. This applies to no other hero like Everest or Keir just Stygia and i think they missed that. She was the go-to hero without frags that needing building and players had months to keep going and did. Unlike other standard heroes that can get nerfed for balanced reasons she should have been exempt from the standard heroes we get because of the months on end non-supported hardship on players to acquire her frags reason alone. That’s what really got missed unlike other heroes it really just applies to her and for that reason it should now be reviewed because in hindsight it was a mistake not to improve her health or power even more as a lateral solution to the nerf taking place. And build counters to be better, everyone wins and it’s still competitive and even better for the players that complained to begin with.
I agree with building counters. But like so many games similar to this pattern, the game power imbalance spirals out of control. Look back at some of the original heros. Skill discriminations are basic as hell. Now look at some of the newer heros, reading a short story sometimes. Styiga was nerfed in the shield section a little too hard, I’d say bring it up 25%. But you can’t deny and say just buff old heros, can’t really do so with some of the basic heros we have, unless we want to just have huge jumps in stats from plat to Ruby. I know in order to keep the game alive devs have to increase the hardness of the game, id be a annoying loop of OP heros for 3-6 months, people cry, nerfs then buffs and reworks. It would be a mess.
It is not like they nerfed her to the ground like HH was doing with many heroes. It is more of a pat on the hand. As for resources waste, I hardly disagree. People whom used her gained a lot of resources from clearing up extremes down to good placements for 6 months… that is a long time.
Deca really shows they listen and have the knowledge to bring the balance the game needs. Massive respect.
