@GIR dont get meta heroes confused with the meta alliance.
I didn’t know there was an alliance named meta. It’s just a word she/they keep generalizing on and repeating it’s use to the point where it’s lost it’s meaning.
Again. This is shifting off topic. Now, it never lost its meaning. It’s not just me who uses this term this often
I’m a relatively new player. Been playing since mid February, level 83 right now. I wouldn’t say the game is “dying”. Could it use some “balance” tweaks…sure, and we get those with each update.
I agree with @Robert_Pronk that a feature like an infinite/survival could definitely breathe some new life into this game. I also like speed runs, where you could challenge a player (for a lump sum of stamina) to complete as much of the campaign as possible in 10 minutes (disable dialogue).
I personally believe this game does little to encourage experimentation, though, to get players old and new to explore what we already have. My suggestion would be new challenges that don’t necessarily repeat, and may require specific heroes or conditions.
For example, maybe create a raid event where our heroes power levels are throttled to a certain threshold (or give us the kitted out heroes and score us on a truly level playing field), emphasizing synergies and strategies. Have daily/weekly/monthly challenges specific to heroes or a type of hero.
Ex. Make 10 kills with damage over time skills
Ex. Get 10 headshot skills with a crossbow
Ex. Complete x mission/raid with only front line fighters.
Ex. Stagger 20 enemies
Ex. Complete x mission using only Ryker
etc.
Absolutely love this idea. But I’ll throw this one in too.
New dailies. Think of actual challenges like killing 5 damage dealers in pvp, hunting down 5 KLG shotgunners or something along those lines. With with the exploration and challenge both. We need a goal each day that we could fight for
Perhaps a constantly changing daily, that offers 10-25 gold depending on the difficulty, but same task for everyone in the game.
I like that. To make it more challenging, what if DECA gives us the heroes to complete the challenge/event. Then, they could score people against each other, regardless of team level/power because at that point it is about skill
I think a challenge mode where you have to pass a mission with a combination of say 20 heroes and find out which one you can beat it with.
This could for one bring the community together to solve the challenge, perhaps have ones for different levels so that experienced players do not immediately find it for newer ones exploring.
This also aids in exploring since you’ll be trying new heroes, and with this everyone would have an actual challenge instead of high levels speedrunning through every new event.
I’ve been quiet for awhile now, all I gotta say is if you think this game isn’t dead or is perfectly fine. You’re either a fool or new. This game was dying well before Deca took over. Nothing has changed in this game since they’ve taken over. It’s just the same bs HH did before Deca took over. Not a single thing has changed no new game modes just the same recycled garbage. You may disagree with me but in all honesty not a thing has changed. Just the same nonsense
Nice , straight forward, no buttering, it’s reality.
I cannot speak for anybody else, but I agree with you…somewhat. I created an account 5 years ago when the game first released and got bored. Now, I’m on a fresh account on a new phone. I’d agree DECA didn’t change much when they acquired this IP. I’d also argue they cannot change much and keep this game the same. They can add heroes, tweak settings, and rebalance, but the underlying gameplay mechanics will not change.
Gameplay will be what it is. New modes still require you to play the game the same way as in every other mode. I think what I would like DECA to address is an incentive structure to make players WANT to log in every day. Challenges that change on a daily basis that we cannot use quick tickets for, an endless game mode that doesn’t require constantly traversing menus or watching an ever decreasing stamina count, etc. are just a means of potentially incentivising active engagement.
For the past 2 weeks i have only been logging in to chat some and hoard items. I have no motives to do anything. The only remotely exciting thing for me would be upgrading heroes. But guess what? I can’t. I am quite literally waiting until i get materials so i can add a single bar. Adding a platinum bar, for the sake of what? A microscopic stat increase? No, to see something exciting i need to be making rubies. But, making any core takes me an entire month of wasting my stamina on one single thing. Maybe a bit of pvp in the meanwhile. But let’s be real, i face the exact same stuff every single match. Because there is only that which you need and it’s that which everyone will get and use. It is just so incredibly monotonous and boring. As i said, i have no incentive but to log in and wait until something exciting happens. I merely ask the question (being a high level player)
Should i feel this way when i play this game? Should i be waiting day after day just hoping something exciting for me pops up?
This isn’t the same for everyone, i know. But i know many who can relate. This game is either too easy or impossible. The further you go the more this becomes constant. Release an extreme event, it is fun, but it is so incredibly easy and after repeating it several times i get through the fun of it as well.
I will soon be sharing a realistic idea i had. One that in my years of experience and long, processed thoughts, i think will bring back fun to this game for high level players.
I say buff gold drops from the pvp crate, as well as ways to make ruby cores rather than grabbing them from events only and hoping it’s the right one.
They can easily make ruby cores or even make hard to get character farmable in latter stages of extreme, but they’re more worried about how to maximize revenue versus improving the overall experience of players.
Well. So there’s one thing i strongly disagree about.
Deca is not a major company. From what i know they don’t make super high profits. These people need the money so they can sustain these games. If they don’t get their money we don’t get our game. And, if you’ve been remotely paying attention to recent content released you’ll notice they’re doing their damn best to improve our experience. Think especially of the extreme nerf, new extreme events, bug fixed. They don’t earn a lot from that and they do it more so to please us
I’ve never faulted anyone for trying ti maximize revenue. They spent a pretty penny and it is absolutely within their rights to do so. However, there are additional minor things they can do such as upgrading whats in the guilded crate, most wanted crates, , making ruby cores farmable, etc…
As it is right now, like you mentioned, once you hit a certain spot, theres very little to look forward to.
I do agree that the smaller quality of life changes would be biggest.
Think of rotating daily challenges, difficulty-reward slider for raids, increasing level caps and so on
I wouod absolutely love to have to log in every day to complete a challenge like:
“Kill xx enemies with x hero” and it rotates with hero and type every day. They shouldn’t be mandatory for dailies but they should provide like progression to a big reward.
And maybe to that some menu customization. Think of banners, hero-skin showcases, titles
It does seem there is a player retention problem. Smaller improvements could help, but making the grind easier is a big thing,
Perhaps vip level could increase stamina recharge rate as well as stamina cap.
(I’m also tired up my cap being 149, like gimme one more)
Perhaps something that increases as the player plays more and logs in more often. Imagine an XP multiplier when you log in for a week to 1.1. Then 1.2x on 2 weeks and so on until a certain point.
I’ve proposed it before. A survival gamemode much like the Sim, but permanent, refreshing every so often. Giving XP, minor rewards, an incentive to come online and play for hours.
How about updating the stores? Make them bigger, discounts, more use of the market system, trading even!
