Obviously Halo + Savage can do more together than Siren can on her own, but their biggest synergy was the spray and pray lightning conductor combo, and Siren can do the same thing, but much better.
And yeah, siren song is pretty easily interruptable, but that can be managed. I run her with Panzer and I usually take out one or two of the guys that can interrupt/kill Siren, then by the time Panzer is out of her first clip, Siren is singing her song. I’ve got some other good synergies on my team as well, but the Panzer/Siren one/two punch is really very overwhelming from a damage output perspective. I played something like 50 pvp matches yesterday night and I lost 4 hearts - never lost a match.
I’ve been reading this string and following the back and forth and it’s pretty clear that some folks think Siren is OP, and others feel she is not. I believe that’s just about the definition of balanced. IF the situation were "All players with hero X were always beating players without hero X, then that’s when i’d agree that hero X was OP. But that is not the case with Siren, as evidenced by the above posts.
Exactly. Seeing her appearance in top PVP tournaments is also telling. When Panzer and Ifrit first came out they were in pretty much every team in the top 50 leaderboards. They were hands down OP. Siren was only in 25% in the last tournament. That is hardly OP. That is just a solid hero.
I don’t think anyone is arguing Siren isn’t a good hero to take. Versus teams heavy in bio heroes or low in stuns/silences she probably does seem pretty OP. There are still plenty of counters to her though. Kurtz, Shiv, and Panzer being the main ones. Caine and Flatline are also pretty good against her. Caine throwing his shield on a hero makes her song instantly interrupted. If Kuno and Hideo were more popular in PVP they would also be excellent counters. Against heroes like Mandrake, Heimlock, Ifrit, Astrix, and Mauler she is an absolute beast.
I would be curious to see some matches where Siren wins Grasher. I feel like at lower levels everyone is just sandbagging so things are incredibly skewed. Under 90k power I see tons of Ronin teams, where as over 90k I barely see any now.
I run a pretty balanced team. I bring all of my heroes to 6 star plat and leave them there (except Ronin - he’s 7 star), since my goal is more to find fun synergies. I’ll post some screen grabs over the weekend.
Not a lot of great players on tonight, but I had a Ronin min maxer and a stars before bars guy, got them pretty good. I also faced a bunch of guys w a lot of mech damage, came out without lost hearts. Not much happening on Friday night tho lol.
I don’t see anyone using Caine on your opponent teams, which is probably one issue. In the top PVP brackets he is constantly used. I’m also not seeing any 4-Cep, Flatline or Panzer (or of course, Kurtz). In fact I am not seeing heal or support heavy teams at all, which is what pretty much everyone uses.
The only heroes I see being used against you that are used a lot in top PVP are Keel, Mandrake once, and to a lesser extent Cast, Heimlock, Kobold, and Shiv. Almost every team in top rank PVP uses Mandrake. Also, why are you using Baron? If you switched him for Mandrake or even another healer or Phalanx I feel like your team would be that much stronger. Baron is an absolute terrible hero at 90k+.
I’m guessing you might be sitting in a sweet spot right now. Not many sandbaggers at that level since most leveled up more, and not many people are playing there that have much experience making for easy wins. Heck, a maxed out Ronin is 20k so that is half the team power in your bracket. Most sand bag teams are well above 50k. Most of the teams you are facing look slopped together and are the teams that if I face, I absolutely decimate at 90k+. I can usually tell how a match will go before it even starts based on my opponent’s line up.
I would love to see some screenshots of teams that had something like Shiv, Caine, Keel, Mandrake, Phalanx, or Panzer, Flatline, Caine, Mandrake, Keel, or even 4-Cep in there somewhere.
EDIT: Also, 2 of those opponents are bot controlled by AI and 2 are the same person. If they don’t belong to an Alliance like XXXSHREKXXX and REDD1T4LIFE, and their heroes are almost identical in power they are almost always bots. I have played bots with the same names. This makes me think your player pool is very low and most people who have experience are already well past it.
The Baron Keel combo is just unbeatable for early healing. He’s low key one of my favorite characters. I beat a few Panzer teams in there as well, just didn’t bother with screenshots. I will admit that there aren’t a lot of great players at the 40k power level, maybe only 10-20% of my matches are actually challenging.
I think I’ve said too much here, people have caught on to my Siren game, and I’m getting beat more now. I’m beating most of the people in the 40k power bracket b/c they’re honestly not very good, but I’m losing more consistently to the good teams.
4-CEP is legitimately OP. I put out a stats comparison in his spotlight thread, but his base stats are on a completely different level from everyone else’s. It’s pretty imbalanced.
4-CEP definitely has weaknesses, especially against Phoenix. She can keep her Incinerate on longer than his revive, so he will still lose damage after he resuscitates himself
agreed. Ghoul is also a good counter if you have good timing, i’ve had so many instances where a 4ceps revives only to die seconds later thanks to an improvised bomb.
